During every snowboard and freeski season, we hold 12-18 Freeride and race competitions. The competitions are in six different disciplines, Slopestyle, Half Pipe, Rail Jam and Boardercross/Skiiercross for our Snowboarders and Skiiers. In addition, we hold Slalom and Giant Slalom events for our snowboard competitors.

Athletes in our series are made up of Snowboard and Ski amateur athletes who are embarking on an adventure into exploring their skills in a competitive environment. We are all ages and ability levels.

In order to compete in these events, athletes must be a current member of the USASA.  A USASA membership as a South Tahoe Series member enables the athlete to participate in any sanctioned USASA event across the country. There is an event fee per competition that varies depending on the event and location.

Members do not have to be a member of any particular mountain nor do they have to be a part of a team to compete in our events. We welcome newcomers to our competitions. As a result of donations, the 2018/19 competition events in South Tahoe are free for our 9 and under competitors. We are excited to have this benefit available to allow for the development of our local kids!

USASA Members earn points from their Regional competition results to qualify for the National Compeition that will be held in April 2017 at Copper Mountain, Colorado. There are different ways to qualify for an invite to compete at Nationals.

For the complete rulebook or for more information on Nationals qualifications, please go to the USASA website.

We look forward to seeing you at one of our events!
